Jackie Richardson

Jackie Richardson is an award winning actress and one of Canada's foremost singers of gospel, blues and jazz whose career includes performances in concert, radio, television and recordings. She's performed across Canada and in countries around the world. Jackie has received NAACP, Juno, Betty, Dora, Jesse, Gemini, TBS and Canadian Equity Association Lifetime Achievement Awards and Nominations. Jackie was honored by the Toronto Star's Commemoration of Toronto's 180th Birthday as one of 180 people considered to have helped shape our city. Although her most recent accomplishments are too numerous to be listed, Jackie considers her involvement with The Stephen Lewis Foundation's "South Africa Grandmothers Gathering in Durbin", "The Nina Simone Project" , Regent Park's "The Journey", Christmas concerts with The Orpheus Choir/Hanniford Brass Band, The Art of Time Ensemble, The Salvation Army Choir and Orchestra, and Jazz FM's Cuba Excursion with daughter Kim as her 2016 highlights. 2017 was the year of Canada's 150th Birthday and Jackie was excited about all the many planned celebratory events. In particular, the Gala Concert "A Place To Stand: A Celebration of 150 Years of Ontario and Canada "hosted by The Lieutenant Governor of Ontario at Roy Thomson and Soul Pepper Theatre's Across The Border" program which represented Canada in New York City for the month of July. The year 2018 brings more projects with The Art of Time Ensemble, Sean Jones Concerts, The Musical Stage Tour, Corey Butler's Hymn To Freedom Tour and The return of The Journey with Regent Park to name a few. High on Jackie's list is a passionate need to bring more focus and support to women and children issues.
