Liesl Ahlers

Liesl Ahlers is a South African Actress. She studied Acting for Film & TV in Canada at the Vancouver Academy of Dramatic Arts (VADA). Liesl was cast as Marina Mills in the Warner Bros feature film Friend Request, for which she received an award in Moscow. Liesl acted opposite William Hurt in BBC Two's The Challenger Disaster and portrayed the role of Zelda in the third season of South Africa's Emmy nominated series Sokhulu & Partners. Liesl portrays the role of Erin in Director Alastair Orr's latest thriller: Triggered. Liesl will also portray the lead in the sci-fi, psychological thriller: The Construct. Liesl wrote, produced and directed the South African Awareness film: Daylight, with the hopes of creating global awareness on the devastating amount of children who become orphans due to the HIV/AIDS epidemic in South Africa. Daylight have received a total of 11 nominations and 6 wins. Liesl has been nominated for Best Director, Best Movie By an African Female Director/Producer and Best Supporting Actress. The President of the Russian International Horror Awards invited Liesl to Moscow, to receive an Award for her portrayal of Marina Mills in Friend Request. Liesl has a Brown Belt in Martial Arts. Trained in Korean fighting and Self Defense (Hapkido) under Master Vladimir Grachev. Liesl is the designer, owner and founder of women's clothing label Call A Cab & Take It Slow. Liesl is the founder of The Squared Shirt Charity Project, which aims to empower children who live in poverty in South Africa.
