Hairul Azreen, the youngest child of Idris Ali and Habsah Desa, was an active child growing up. At the age of 16, he had already received a black belt in Taekwondo. In 2004, he even represented Selangor in the SUKMA Games. The Sukma Games is a biennial national multi-sport event involving young athletes in Malaysia. He was a stuntman and a martial artist in his early 20's before he began dabbling in acting, scoring a leading role in Mahabah De Laila, a drama series on TV9 back in 2009. He continued to star in several telemovies and drama series such as Teknofobia, Pontianak Remaja, and 5 Bujang before his film debut in 2011 for the movie Keramat. In 2013, Hairul Azreen, along with teammate, Dazrin Kamaruddin won first place against 15 other celebrity teams in Fear Factor Celebrity Malaysia, a stunt/dare game show adapted from the American Fear Factor TV show. Within the next few years, he hit it off with being the lead of several highest-ranking grossing films in Malaysia. Movies such as Polis EVO 2 which has a grossing of 20M and PASKAL The Movie which has an amazing grossing of 30M, the highest gross collection for an action movie in Malaysia to this day. Other notable films that Hairul Azreen has a leading role in would be Wira (2019) and Pasal Kau! (2021), the first Malaysian produced original Netflix film. He also starred in The Assistant, the first Malaysian film distributed by Sony which will premiere in March 2022 amongst his other line-ups which includes Abang Long Fadil 3 and Bakara. In 2021, he made his directorial debut for Ada Hantu, the first Malaysian-made film for Disney Hotstar. Due to a very positive feedback from the audience, he returned to the director's chair and served as an executive producer for the sequel, Ada Hantu 2. Hairul Azreen is married to actress, TV host and blogger, Hanis Zalikha and is a father of two children, Yusuf Iskandar and Alisa Aisyah.
