Idris Debrand
Award winning actor Idris Debrand is an English actor from Islington, London. For his role as Sid in British Feature Film 'Kat And The Band', Debrand was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Idyllwild Film Festival. In 2013 - his acting debut short film 'Life Sentence' picked up Best Short Film Award at the East End Film Festival. Debrand was also nominated for Best Actor at the BBC Audio Drama Awards for his performance in the Charles Dickens' adaptation of 'Oli'. In both 2017 & 2018, Debrand was a named finalist in The ABC Discovers UK Digital Talent Competition - a highly prestigious competition set for British-based actors to be seen by top US Agents and Casting Directors, and for a chance to have a one-year talent holding agreement with the ABC network. Debrand can be seen in BBC Political Thriller 'MOTHERFATHERSON', along side Richard Gere, Danny Sapani & Helen McCrory. In 2021, he co-starred in BBC's longstanding detective show 'Death In Paradise', with Ralf Little & Tobi Bakare.
Debrand attended St. Luke's Primary School and Central Foundation Boys' secondary School. He then went on to do further studies at St. Charles Catholic Sixth Form and then studied a business degree at University Level, Graduating with a BA (Hons) in Business Studies. During his Secondary School years, Debrand was training at The Young Actors Theatre in Islington and then went on to train at the Identity School Of Acting whilst studying at University.
