Liza Scholtz
Liza Scholtz is a trained film and TV actor. She can be seen in Trackers as Ms Shah, Anna in psychological thriller The Good Madam, Melinda Vargas in American Monsters, Bernice Myers in Origins, (The journey of Humankind), Lisa in the Sci-Fi South African comedy Die Vlieende Springbokkie, The Nurse in The Maze Runner and Tatianna in the award winning feature film High Fantasy.
As a writer Liza co-wrote the feature film High Fantasy, which had its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival, and went on to travel to the Berlinale, among others. High Fantasy won best feature film at DIFF.
Liza won the 2021 international Button Video poetry contest with her short film, The space between returning and leaving. And is in the process of completing her first poetry book.
She received her honors cum laude, in acting for screen at AFDA. After pursuing her degree she trained with the acclaimed AMAW founder Anthony Meindle. She also worked with the AMAW institute in Los Angeles and Vancouver, in spearheading the setting up of AMAW workshops in Cape Town. Liza trains with the celebrated acting coach Lesley Mannim in preparation for roles.
