Anuja Joshi
Anuja Joshi is an actress based in New York City, Los Angeles, and Mumbai, India.
Born into a performing arts family, her father was a renowned child actor in the Hindi Film Industry who went by the stage name Master Alankar, and her aunt is the Indian National Award winning Pallavi Joshi. Alongside acting, Anuja is also a trained singer and dancer. She was raised learning Hindustani classical music in vocal performance and she actively participated in musical theatre throughout her middle school and high school career. She completed her Rangapravesam in the classical Indian dance form Kuchipudi at the age of eighteen.
Anuja graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts with a degree from the Kanbar Institute of Film and Television, specializing in film direction. She trained in acting under Alice Spivak and Grace Kiley in New York City. During her college career she interned at NBCUniversal for shows like "Saturday Night Live," and "Late Night with Seth Meyers." After her graduation she worked at USA / SYFY for the marketing and digital team for shows like "Suits" and "Mr. Robot." Throughout her time working in production, she continued auditioning and chasing her passion for acting.
In 2018 she got her break as the lead character Rivanah Banerjee in the Indian web series "Marry Me Stranger" produced by Goldie Behl (of Rose Films) and Applause Entertainment, based on the novel trilogy by Novoneel Chakraborty.
Anuja Joshi is the identical twin sister of actress Aneesha Joshi who got her first break in Hindi cinema for the 2016 film "Junooniyat." She also has a younger brother named Aashay.
