Tieisha Thomas is a NYC based performer hailing from Queens, NY. She discovered her love of music at a young age through the influences of her vibrant Caribbean culture. She made her first performance debut in her grade school production of "GREASE" where she was exposed to the world of theatre and its endless possibilities. Soon after Tieisha was granted admission into one of the most prestigious performing art high schools in the country as a vocal major at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Arts. She received her Bachelor Degree in Theater Arts from SUNY Buffalo State, becoming one of the 1st Young Artist Competition winners who had the opportunity to sing Classical Repertoire with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. She was most recently seen Off- Broadway in Public Theater and Disneys Theatricals Musical Adaptation of Disneys "HERCULES" as Melepomene one of the beloved greek chorus Muses. That production has been reviewed in notable publications such as Playbill, Hollywood Reporter, NY Times, Washington Post, Vulture, Broadway World, Theatermania, The Wrap, New York Stage Review and Entertainment Weekly. Next she will be featured in the film adaptation of James Earl Hardys bestselling book "B- Boys Blues" directed by Jussie Smollet which is slated for release later on this year (2021). Aside from being a professional performer she has been a teaching artist with the New York State Department of Education over last 5 years with various theater companies. She has taught publicly and privately leading drama based classes centered around improvisation, monologue prep, scene study, devised theater and social emotional learning. She offers one on one classes for young adults and budding artists looking to further their discovery of themselves through theater/performance. When she's not performing, she enjoys creatively developing her own original content, dancing and snapping crab legs at her favorite seafood spot!
