Philippe Joly is a French/Russian actor living in Hong Kong. He regularly plays the villain in action films across Asia, and shared the screen with some of Asia's biggest stars, including Chow Yun Fat, Jackie Chan, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Andy Lau, Takeshi Kaneshiro, and more. Philippe has a background in martial arts and contact sports that he practiced growing up, which nowadays allows him to provide a certain physicality required by the action roles that he plays. As well as acting, Philippe is passionate about filmmaking in general, so he actively writes screenplays, and has directed many short films. He is fluent in 4 languages (French, Russian, Italian and English), and is an avid practitioner of close-up magic and card manipulation.
