Ian T. Dickinson

Ian Dickinson lives in the UK and Berlin, Germany. He was born (1963) in Plymouth, England, and grew up in St. Germans, a small village in South East Cornwall. He moved to London in 1983 where, together with Dave Stewart of Eurythmics, he co-founded and managed the music publishing company 'Anxious Music' and the independent record label 'Anxious Records'. After resigning from the Anxious companies Ian studied drama and English literature at 'The Working Men's College' in London. He left the UK for Berlin in 1995. He has appeared on various stages in Berlin, Frankfurt am Main and Munich, playing both in German and English. Ian was a guest actor at both the 'Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin' from 1998 To 1999 and at the 'Deutsches Theater Berlin' from 2003 until 2008. His film credits include; 'A Hologram for the King' (Tom Tykwer, 2015), 'Die Frau, die sich traut' (Marc Rensing, 2012), 'Passion' (Brian De Palma, 2012), 'The Physician' (Philipp Stölzl, 2012), 'The Power' (Paul Hills, 2011), 'Weak Heart Drop' & 'Tom Atkins Blues' (Alex Ross, 2012/09), 'Person To Person' (Wim Wenders, 2007), 'Fay Grim' (Hal Hartley, 2006), 'V For Vendetta' (James McTeigue, 2005) and Grimme prize winner 'Paul Is Dead' (Hendrik Handloegten, 1998). TV credits include: 'Europas letzter Sommer' (Bernd Fischerauer, 2011), 'Deckname Luna' (Ute Wieland, 2011), 'Konrad Adenauer' (Stefan Schneider, 2011), 'Die Männer der Emden' (Berengar Pfahl, 2011), 'Tatort: Der tote Chinese' (Hendrik Handloegten, 2008), 'Die Pfefferkörner' (Stefan Mohrbutter 2002) and 'Der Verleger' (Bernd Böhlich, 2001). Ian has been working in voice-over for twenty years and is an established English voice-over artist with a wealth of experience in advertising, film and narration, as well as character work for drama and animation. International, European, US and UK television, radio and internet commercial campaigns include Lufthansa, Deutsche Bank, Hyundai, Goodyear, Credit Suisse, Schwarzkopf, BMW, Panasonic, Opel, Toyota, Braun, Deichmann and Zurich Financial. He has recorded numerous audio guides, including: Berlin's Bode Museum, Pergamon Museum, Altes Museum, Jewish Museum and Hamburger Bahnhof, Munich's Pinakothek and Hamburger Kunsthalle. Works include: New York Metropolitan Museum of Art's exhibition of 19th Century masterpieces 'Die schönsten Franzosen kommen aus New York', 'Melancholy. Genius and Insanity in Art', and New York's MOMA exhibition. Permanent Berlin exhibitions include Charlottenburg Palace and the Holocaust Memorial.
