Joey Stewart

Joey Stewart is a filmmaker with over 20 feature films, 8 seasons of episodic television, and two streaming network series to his credit. Joey got his start in the film business in 1990 as a PA on Oliver Stone's "JFK." He quickly learned the ropes of large-scale moviemaking while working with A-list talent in three cities over the course of the five-month shoot. Over the next few years he moved up through the ranks on several television shows and feature films, working as a 1st AD, UPM, and line producer. In 2004 Joey took the next step in his career by producing the thriller "A Killer Within," a film that sold quickly and profitably. This success soon made him one of the first calls for indie filmmakers in the Texas area. Over the next few years, Stewart served as Producer on "Night of the White Pants" starring Tom Wilkinson and Nick Stahl, "Hate Crime" with Bruce Davison, "Midgets Vs Mascots" featuring Gary Coleman, "Rain" with Faye Dunaway, two TV movies for Lifetime Television, and two streaming series for Lifetime and Warner Brother, and the streaming action series "Exposed," executive produced by McG. On five of these films Joey was chosen as 2nd Unit Director, and made his directorial debut on Lifetime's Web series "Inspector Mom." Since then he has continued to produce several features and direct 2nd Unit. In March of 2009, Joey was hired to direct the psychological horror film "The Final." Only 10 months later the film was picked up by Lionsgate and After Dark Films for a theatrical and DVD release as part of their "8 Films To Die For" series. It ranked in the top 10 rentals in iTunes and was seen in theaters worldwide. Stewart continues to Produce, Manage, and Direct all forms of filmmaking and recently produced the latest film from writer/director Neil LaBute, "Dirty Weekend".
