Dano Colón
Dano Colón is an actor, writer, and clown from Houston, Texas. He attended St. John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota, where he double-majored in Philosophy and Theater in 2009. Post-graduate, he studied at the Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theater in Blue Lake California, where he earned a one-year Professional Training Certification in ensemble-devised physical theater in 2011 as well as studying the performance styles of Commedia Dell'Arte, mask performance, and clown. He then attended the "Le Jeu" one-month intensive at École Philippe Gaulier in Etampes, France in 2012.
Following his studies, he traveled in 2012 to Kalmar, Sweden where he and a friend co-founded Time to Quit! Theatre, a clown theater company. He performed with this company before returning to Houston, where he currently performs with several theaters as well as teaching children theater with the educational programs of Main Street Theater and as a private drama instructor for home-schooled high school students.
When he's not performing or teaching, Dano works as a writer and developer for Dawnrunner, Inc, a San Francisco-based production company. He has contributed to the project development and writing of several projects with this company, including Sol, a prospective sci-fi project that has won numerous film festival awards and accolades, including "Best Voice in a Screenplay" at Script Summit 2019, "Best TV Pilot" from GenreBlast 2019, and the top 50 list for the ISA in 2019.
