Cameron Nugent

Cameron Nugent has been entertaining since the ripe age of 12. In a twist of fate, he found himself talking his way through his first television appearance in an advertisement for National Nine News when the scheduled actor failed to show on location at his Melbourne home back in 1986. Soon afterwards, Cameron found himself with a lead role in the hit children television series Round the Twist, which led to a string of leading roles in children's programs such as Ratbag Hero, and the award winning The Big Wish, for which he received an AFI Nomination. From television, he progressed to feature films, landing leading roles in such Australian productions as Snowy, Dusty II, The Merchant of Fairness and Blackrock, in which he starred with the late Heath Ledger. Cameron then took some well earned time off to complete his secondary school studies, during which time he made brief appearances in such television programs as Neighbours, Blue Heelers, Stingers and Halifax, and appeared in numerous television commercials. He promptly followed his hiatus with a lead role in multi award winning ABC series, SeaChange, During Cameron' s time at university he directed his talents towards television and film production as Deakin University's Varsity Week director, and writer and director of a number of short films.Years later, Cameron completed University with a wealth of knowledge and inspiration for his passion in television and film, which lead him to incorporate the boutique production company, iCandy Productions. It was at this point that Cameron made his move towards direction. After establishing iCandy, Cameron jumped straight into directing clips and working with some of Australias best bands, such as Kisschasy and Angelas Dish, receiving a YouTube Commendation for an Australian view record. Soon after he was dragged halfway across the world to direct and shoot his first feature length documentary on animal cruelty in India: 'ATAAC A Documentary'. He then jumped straight into writing, producing and directing 3 acclaimed short films, Smoking Will Kill You (which received Canne Film Festival selection), Magic and Spider Walk, which are still on the international film circuit today. Soon after Cameron directed an anti-racism commercial, and was swept away to France and the Canne Lion Festival with an advertising Nomination. He recently co-directed a soon to be released online experimental feature film shot in Brooklyn as part of an international collaboration, and is looking forward to directing his first dramatic feature.
