Carly J. Bauer
Carly J. Bauer is a multi-disciplinary creator. She is an award-winning producer, casting director, film and stage actor, and the occasional recording artist. She has performed, produced, and cast Off-Broadway; Several of her projects have been mentioned and critically acclaimed by The New York Times, The Village Voice, BroadwayWorld, TheatreMania, and Stage Buddy, to name a few. She has performed and produced many projects under Tamilla Woodard, recent Tony Award-winning Associate Director of Hadestown on Broadway. Carly has been seen on film as "Stephanie" in the award winning, internationally acclaimed, Shithead The Movie, which was recently picked up by Green Apple Entertainment, and will be available on streaming platforms in 2020.
Carly Executive Produced a sold out run of a "first rate revival" (Theatre Mania) of Bachelorette by Leslye Headland at WalkerSpace in Off Broadway's Soho Repertory Theatre. Other producing credits: Fire On Flaming Roads (Arthur Seelen Theatre at NYC's landmark The Drama Bookshop ), Steppenwolf (The New School), the award winning one act - Between Men (Midtown International Theatre Festival), PopUp Theatrics' Broken City: Harlem & Wall St (in collaboration with the International Sign Dance Collective) and Inside at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine.
She has cast for New York Musical Festival, DreamUp Festival, Columbia University's MFA Film Program, The Player's Theatre, The Master Theater, The Working Theater, Transforma Theatre's Off-Broadway, and international run of The Female Role Model Project, Houses on the Moon's DeNovo at Off Broadway's New York Theatre Workshop's Next Door Series, and several short films, including the award-winning Absent having premiered at The Hamptons International Film Festival, and was named a Staff Pick on Vimeo.
Carly has performed at The Irish Repertory Theatre, The Robert Moss Theatre, The Living Theatre, The Player's Club, and in several student films (NYU, The Art Institue of Philadelphia) sketch comedy, and has been seen internationally in Shithead The Movie, which will be available on streaming platforms in 2020, distributed by Green Apple Entertainment.
Carly has studied and trained at Boston Conservatory, The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Atlantic Acting School, Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB Comedy), the Commercial Theatre Institute, Theater Resources Unlimited's Producer Mentorship and Development Program, The Institute of Audio Research, and received her Bachelor of Science from The New School in which she curated her own major.
