In 2001, Ahmed started as a model when he won the first Mr Asia UK modelling contest, where he was the only contestant of Bangladeshi descent. Ahmed studied at the University of Greenwich.[2] He played semi-professional football with Sporting Bengal United F.C. and captained the team. He worked as a coach for West Ham United F.C along with working as a model and actor in independent and mainstream productions. In 2006, he was approached by renowned football choreographer Andy Ansa who was casting an actor who could play decent level of football and also could speak Hindi to play a role in the film Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal. Ahmed got the part.[2] In 2008, following some rigorous casting and workshops. Ahmed got the lead role of Leonardo in Jonathan Chadwick's adaptation of Federico Loca Garcia's Blood Wedding. He was then contacted by Bollywood superstar actor / producer Arshad Warsi to be in his 2010 film Hum Tum Aur Ghost.[1] Ahmed has had several lead roles in several UK-based short films.[2] He was also cast in the film based on the life and music of a rural Bengali folk, mystic poet and singer Hason Raja.[3][4][5] Ahmed has featured in several music videos and films across many countries due to his versatility and ability to adapt different looks. He is one of the few British actors of south Asian origin to have a boasting profile having worked in British film, Hollywood, Bollywood, Tollywood, Dollywood, Pakistani Cinema, French TV. Ahmed is determined to bring diversity and encourage more talent from underrepresented communities.
