Matt Gras

Matt Gras is a French and bilingual actor based in London. Born into a family of french designers, Matt developed a passion for the arts and especially for cinema very early on. Matt studied Art and Design at the EBTP of Vincennes and was a drama student of the prestigious Cours Simon and the School Of Performing Arts. A few years after, he enrolled at The International Film School of Paris (EICAR) and graduated with a BFA honors degree in Drama and Film Directing. Matt left Paris for London soon after graduation, to follow his ambitions and forge the foundations of a international career in UK film industry. From 2011 to 2012, Matt was cast as the lead in more than 20 short film productions including "New With Tags" directed by Matthew Nesbeth (Royal TV Society award 2013), "Expectations" directed by Martin Doyle (London SciFi Festival 2012), Freddie Gerrard-Abbot's adaptation of Roald Dahl's chilling horror short "Lamb To The Slaughter", and was cast as Louis La Claquette in the critically acclaimed "Avenue To Nowhere" directed by Jacob Migicovski. The following year (2013), Matt was offered a succession of parts in a myriad of independent feature films including "4:48" directed by Jaky Katu, "Art Ache" by Berty Cadihac, and "Sparks and Embers" by Galvin Boyter. During the same year Matt did his first leading appearance on french television for the series "Par Amour" (France 2). Since the beginnings of 2014, Matt has been cast to lead in no less than three feature films including "Imprisoned" (featuring Martin Kemp and Kelly Downes), "Rough Cut" directed by Owen Carey Jones (BAFTA), and "Virtue" by RADA director/actress Cara Bamford. This year also marks Matt's involvement as an executive producer, working in collaboration with Cara Bamford and FoxRock Productions in order to develop and produce original feature films as well as to support the efforts of the projects he is attached to.

For over three decades, Matt Green has been one of the southeast's most active filmmakers. Besides having directed 9 feature films in the last twenty years and creating creature, makeup and physical effects for the past 32 years, Matt has helped other filmmakers produce and coordinate their own films as well as motivating many of his past students to follow their dreams of a career in the motion picture industry. For the past 30 years Matt Has accepted an invitation to speak on the craft of film making at Dragon*Con, one of the worlds largest sci-fi, fantasy and media conventions. Appearing on panels for directing, producing, the use of computer graphics vs. physical effects, and the distribution of independent films, Matt has spoken to crowds of over 100 people on the craft of making films. After teaching commercial editing at the Atlanta broadcast institute for over two years, Matt accepted a personal invitation by special effects legend Tom Savini to teach at his world renown 'Tom Savini special makeup effects school' in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for 4 years. In 1996 Matt returned to Atlanta Georgia to continue making films in the south. After working with several industry leaders such as producer/director Chris Moore (American Pie, Project Greenlight) Writer/director/actor Dwayne Whitaker (Pulp Fiction, From Dusk Till Dawn 2) and actors Bill Moseley, Tom Savini, Trent Haaga and William Sanderson, among others, Matt has learned and mastered how to incorporate big budget filmmaking techniques into low budget scenarios Being involved in productions both domestic and international, Matt has performed most every job on a film set. He brings the knowledge of how to manage the various filmmaking jobs, from directing your film to feeding your crew.
