Tanya Alexander
Originally from St. Louis, MO, Tanya was an overachiever at an early age. A high school valedictorian and Summa Cum Laude/Phi Beta Kappa graduate from St. Louis University's theatre program, Tanya also received a two-year certification in Musical Theatre at AMDA-New York. In the 90's, Tanya appeared in dozens of musicals and stage plays, booking her first national tour in 'The Wiz' (1997) with entertainment great, Grace Jones. She would then work Off-Broadway in 'In Dahomey' (1999) at Woody King's New Federal Theatre and claim a role on the ever-popular 'Law & Order: SVU' (2000). Her 2001 move to Los Angeles would bring television and movie roles on 'The Shield', 'Half n Half', 'Lucky Louie, 'Material Girls', Amazon Prime's 'Bliss' and her first major voice over role as 'Jocelyn Reyes' in 'Tombraider' (2013). A score of film, web, commercial, motion capture, and voice over projects ensued including Sesame Street & Headspace's 'Goodnight, World', radio spots for WeWork, Indeed, and Amazon, more stage productions at The Fountain Theatre and Mark Taper Forum, and countless other credits including award wins like Best Music Video at the Hollywood Black Film Festival (2009) and Best Supporting Actress at the Santa Monica Film Festival ('Beyond Doubt' 2016). With a distinct alto voice, unique look and strong presence, she will continue to make an indelible mark in acting and entertainment.
