Taranjit Kaur
Taranjit Kaur is an Indian actress, best known for her role in Raju (2011), a Student Oscar Academy Award winning short film. She has played a major role in the critically acclaimed film, Ankhon Dekhi (2013), directed by Rajat Kapoor, which was adjudged to be the second best film of 2014. She also played the role of a coal miner in a BAFTA nominated film, Mouth of Hell (2014), directed by Samir Mahanovic, and was also widely recognized in the cameo in Airlift (2016), directed by Raja Menon. She has played diverse roles in her upcoming films including Murder On the Road to Kathmandu, directed by Rupalee Verma, and acted in Adrishya, a TV series on spies of India, as Durgadevi, one of the first women revolutionaries of India, and won huge appreciation for her wide-ranging expressions and intense performance. Taranjit Kaur is a trained theatre actor who has worked as a professional actor with Sahitya Academy Awardee director Neelam Mann Singh Chowdhary, and has performed in several National as well as International theatre Festivals. She has been part of many theatre productions as well as short films. She now turns to become a producer and writer this year with her short film Loving Myself (2019), directed by Sreemoyee Bhattacharya. Her other upcoming films in 2019 include Do Writers Ki Maut, Khel Khel Mein and One Secret Red.
