Tavares Jamal Cherry
Talented. Charming. Modest. These three words describe American fashion model-turned-actor Tavares to perfection. Tavares Jamal Cherry was born to Cheryl Denise Cherry and Sedric Jerome Willis, in Chicago, Il. Growing up, Tavares was always fascinated with the arts. In high school (Joliet West High School), he became involved in drama and film production. He was very active and outgoing in many after school programs and had grown fond of someday working in the entertainment business. At 16, he was scouted in a barbershop to become a model which lead to a very rewarding career in modeling. He went to appear in films like Ali (2001) and Barbershop (2002).
In the summer and fall of 2015, he appeared in his first feature, Lake Eerie (2016), an thriller-horror starring alongside Lance Henriksen and Betsy Baker, as the evil guardian who haunted an old lake house in Michigan. Later that year, he appeared in the indie comedy, Bar Songs (2016).
Tavares continues to strive for excellence in New York City and is working hard at being an accomplished versatile actor in film, television, and theatre.
